The Holy Rosary Sisters were
founded by Bishop Joseph Shanahan C.S.Sp. in 1924 to collaborate in
the evangelisation of Sth. Nigeria, particularly by presenting to women
the image of Christian womanhood, modelled on Mary. Today we work in 15
countries and express our missionary charism by our readiness to be sent,
and to go beyond the boarders of our countries and culture, sharing the
Good News with those to whom we are sent, especially with women, the poor
and those in any kind of need, through ministries of healing,
education,religious formation, pastoral and community development.
We came to Ethiopia in 1975 and
worked in Metcha and Jimma, in the Vicariate of Nekemte. At present we are
in the Archdiocese of Addis Ababa and the Vicariate of Meki.
